Designing with Birds and Lattice Patterns Spring 2014

Aviary and Bird fabrics are popping up everywhere and are the perfect addition to a new Spring look. Many of the busier bird patterns are being paired with trellis patterns in various bright, eye catching color options from turquoise, grass green, and yellows. These vivid colors work well with grey or silver colored walls. For walls that are full of color like reds, oranges, and blues you can pair silver or beige options. Branch and vine designs are a modern look that is beautiful as a drape. The branch pattern below creates a botanical look with the repeat pattern of the same throughout the drape

A warm tangerine branch pattern like DUA3 (above) as a drape in a nursery is beautiful paired with lullaby paints tangerine in a nursery.

Other fabric designers are pairing aqua and lime green. The aqua bird pattern below also mixes a chocolate brown background. All of this designer's fabrics coordinate to create a cheerful mix of pattern and color anywhere in your home. The hive pattern of JD14 and JD15 coordinate well with so many other fabric patterns, because it has a simple clean look.

Pair the fabrics above with walls in the Sherwin Williams paint colors below like Melange or Parakeet green. If  you want cool mint colored walls, Cucumber, Minted or Jocular paints would add the perfect color to your walls.

The bird patterns below mix black, white, and citrine. The navy trellis as a drape paired with the aviary citrine pattern and the citrine circle pattern, create a fresh look in a living or family room.

These imperial trellis type patterns are available in charcoal and beige and also look great paired with the navy and citrine colors.

The fresh aqua blue color of REN10 aviary fabric is a nice touch to a home with beige walls, such as, Behr's Sandstone cove and Castle Path paints.
